Seven players mightn’t get a medal if LFC win the PL title

Liverpool are dreaming of lifting the Premier League title this weekend, but there are some players who may not be given a winners’ medal even if the Reds are successful.

Jurgen Klopp’s men head into the weekend needing a favour from Brighton and Hove Albion if they’re to win the trophy that’s evaded us since its re-branding.

A draw would be enough – it would put it in our hands, with a victory against Wolves all we’d need to bring the title back to the city.

There are seven players though who still may not receive a medal as a player needs to make a certain amount of appearances in a season to stake claim to one.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain only has one appearance to his name since returning from his long-term injury, and Simon Mignolet hasn’t managed to get a chance in goal since the arrival of Alisson.

The need is to make at least five appearances for the winning club – Alberto Moreno has four so he’ll be entitled to one if he features against Wolves.

Youngsters Curtis Jones, Rafa Camacho, Ki-Jana Hoever and Rhian Brewster will also miss out, but what’s a medal worth if we actually get it over the line? The lads will be immortalised for playing a part.

I’m quite sure they’ll get something from the club to commemorate it in any scenario.
