BBC Journo outlines two deals Jurgen Klopp wants to get done

According to David Ornstein, Liverpool have already ‘done their big shop’ and that it would take ‘astronomical spending’ to significantly improve an already brilliant squad.

As a result, we should only expect cover at left-back to be acquired and then a versatile attacker to replace Daniel Sturridge.

Listen to the journalists comments on Radio 5Live below:

While we agree that a left-back is a necessity to cover for Alberto Moreno’s Bosman departure, we’d suggest Ornstein has ignored the requirement of a new backup goalkeeper should Simon Mignolet exit.

The Belgium international is in his prime and surely cannot go on playing second-fiddle to Alisson any longer – so we need another decent stopper to support our world-class Brazilian.

It’s on this ‘versatile attacker’ we imagine Liverpool will spend proper money. We managed to get through this campaign without a serious injury to our starting front-three, and we have to assume we won’t always be so fortunate.

There’s obviously money to spend after reaching another Champions League Final – so just hope Michael Edwards can secure a good deal for the player Jurgen Klopp and the backroom teams identify.

With Rhian Brewster coming through, and the option of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain again, we’ll have incredible options should a top attacker also arrive.
