LFC scouts were in France on Sunday watching three potential world-beaters

Liverpool will have had scouts at various European grounds all throughout the season – so this doesn’t mean a transfer move is imminent!

But our representatives were at Lyon v Marseille on Sunday to keep a close eye on exceptional talent Houssem Aouar – while checking out Tanguy Ndombele and Memphis Depay at the same time.

This is according to French outlet Mercato365, who suggest scouts from our Premier League rivals were also present to watch a variety of players including former Celtic striker Moussa Dembele.

Aouar is a serious talent. He reminds us a little of Bernardo Silva, stylistically, which is an enormous compliment – although doesn’t yet have the Portuguese star’s engine or tenacity.

Ndombele is a monstrously gifted midfielder and we’re a little worried about him ending up at the Etihad in time for next season.

Depay would be a terrific option off our bench in that he scores goals, plays in a variety of positions and has genius in his boots – but he may not be the right kind of character for a rotation role.

Having said that, we’d take any of them in a heartbeat if Liverpool decided to take the plunge!
