Liverpool could spend part of £100m budget on Brazilian 22-year-old – Mail

There isn’t necessarily that much that needs to be done in regards to first-team improvement this summer.

The back four plus goalkeeper is as good as anything on the planet; the front-three is untouchable and the midfield will look terrific next season with the return of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and a fit and ready Naby Keita.

We probably need a new backup stopper, a new left-back, a new striker (to replace Mignolet, Moreno and Sturridge respectively) and maybe a creative midfielder.

According to Dominic King in the Mail, we have a £100m transfer budget, although we actually imagine that if we offload our fringe players (Grujic, Mignolet, Wilson, Camacho, etc.) it could be far higher – considering the huge influx of cash we’ll get from reaching another Champions League Final.

The names he mentions as potential targets are quite uninspiring, bar Ajax’s David Neres, the Brazilian who took the Champions League by storm this season.

Neres’s positional versatility (can play on the right, left or middle) and age (22) makes him a very viable option – as does the fact he reached double figures for goals and assists in 2018/19.

We’d actually prefer his team-mate Hakim Ziyech, who has faster feet a little more magic – but either would suffice.

Who would be your ideal attacker to come in for next season, Reds?
