It’s been a season to be proud of and every single one of Jürgen Klopp’s Reds has been pushing the red machine forward. That machine will be rolling up to Madrid on June 1st to contest a second successive Champions League final as the Reds hope to reward themselves with prime silverware.
It will also be a window of departures, with the likes of Alberto Moreno, Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, and Daniel Sturridge heading for the exit door, the BBC journalist suggests.
The 29-year-old striker’s best days seem unfortunately behind him after injuries robbed him of his pace, confidence, and his position in the side. Klopp needs to come up with a back up option for the Englishman – and he’s found it in Rhian Brewster, as the Daily Star also report.
“Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of 19-year-old Rhian Brewster and therefore does not plan to recruit a back-up ‘number nine’,” Ornstein prophetically claimed.
The 19-year-old is still to make his debut for us and has only recently recovered from ankle surgery that kept him out for a year. Despite that, Klopp has been so impressed by the young Englishman that he’s determined to get him into his side for next season.
“It’s just good so now it’s really nice in a difficult situation that we can give him that spot in the squad and have him there to bring on as a striker.
“When you’re on the bench, you are an option to play.”
In the end, the youngster did in fact watch the game from the bench, but the German will be hoping he’ll be coming off it in the season to come.
