The outlet states, “O Liverpool é um dos destinos prováveis” (prováveis being the Portuguese for “likely”).
The 18-year-old striker is available on a free and with a lot of noise around his name, Cardoso could be a valuable addition to our attacking options this summer.
Despite not yet having featured for Sporting’s first team, Cardoso is highly thought of at the Portuguese side and has been capped for Portugal at U16 level.
His possible arrival at Anfield could be something of a coup for the Reds.
That said, if he does make it to Liverpool it could be as an entrant to the U23 squad rather than the senior side. Cardoso could be a potential replacement for Rhian Brewster who looks set to join Jürgen Klopp’s senior side with Daniel Sturridge moving on.
Sporting Lisbon attacker André ‘Nuno’ Cardoso is close to joining Liverpool, with the club making contact to sign the 18-year-old. Cardoso’s contract runs out at Sporting this summer & will leave on a free transfer. [@jmmadeira2015] #LFC pic.twitter.com/n44xixfYAt
