Jurgen Klopp favourite linked with move away from Reds to fellow PL side

Adam Lallana is keen to return to Southampton this summer having fallen down the pecking order in the Reds midfield, according to a report in the Daily Express.

The England man only started five times for Jurgen Klopp this season, and given he has struggled with injuries for a couple of seasons now, it would be no surprise to see him depart this transfer window.

According to the report, the Reds would ask for around £13 million for him, although Saints boss Ralph Hassenhuttl is thought to have concerns over his fitness as well.

Lallana is not likely to be forced out of the club given how much Klopp rates him and how well thought of he is around the squad, but with only a year left on his current contract, should a substantial offer in for him, it might be time to cash in.

He was excellent for a time under Klopp, becoming one of the first names on the team sheet at his best, and would still be a big part of the squad were it not for fitness issues.

Now 31 and rarely fit for consecutive games, though, he might have played his last game in a Reds shirt.
