Manchester City superstar Kevin de Bruyne claims he feels no sympathy for the Reds, despite Jurgen Klopp and his players accumulating 97 points in the Premier League, only to finish second.
City won the title in the end with a 4-1 win down at Brighton, and De Bruyne, who missed much of the campaign through injury, says the Reds would not have felt sorry for them had they come second.
He told The Telegraph: “It’s a remarkable effort, but it means that we were just better than them in the end. I don’t feel sorry for them, because I don’t think they’d feel sorry for us.
“I don’t think anybody felt sorry about the way we went out of the Champions League. You take it. It’s been a great battle, but to feel ‘sorry’ for them is maybe going a little too far.”

Strangely, if the Reds do win number six, both clubs will have won the trophy that the other desperately wants. Nevertheless, it’s been a great season whatever happens.
The title race is likely to pan out in a very similar way next season, as well, so the intense competition will continue.
