Reds in four-way tussle for Ajax attacking star David Neres – Independent

The Reds are one of four club’s who are eager to sign one of the jewels in Ajax’s crown, young Brazilian, David Neres who The Independent claim is rated at £40 million.

After scoring 12 goals and racking up 15 assists in all competitions this season, the 22-year-old has turned the heads of a host of top clubs in Europe.

If we were to bring him to Merseyside he would provide the kind of versatility and eagerness that Jürgen is after for our attacking options and he’s also the ideal age to be moulded into a Klopp player.

We’re joined by Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and (remarkably) Chelsea, in the race to secure his signature this summer.

The Independent report that the Blues are holding out hopes of having their transfer ban suspended while they appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), so will be pursuing targets regardless.

Chelsea missed out on Luka Jović who is heading to Real Madrid, which is ironic since Neres showcased himself on the European stage when he scored in Ajax’s 4-1 win over Los Blancos.

While Jürgen Klopp will be hopeful he can convince the young Brazilian to make the move to Anfield, Chelsea feel that their working relationship with Neres’ agents Giuliano Bertolucci and Kia Joorabchian will aid their cause as the two also represent David Luiz.

Together with Alisson and Roberto Firmino, Neres has been called up to the Brazil squad for the upcoming Copa America, so hopefully Agent Bobby can work his magic and get him to Anfield for us!
