Michael Edwards to do it again… Wolves could spend mega-money on man who hasn’t played since 2017

Liverpool have slapped a £25m asking price on Harry Wilson, and according to Football Insider, Wolves are seriously considering paying it.

The Welshman has only ever made one appearance for Liverpool – that coming off the bench in a 2017 FA Cup match – and has been out on loan for the past season and a half.

In that time he’s forged a fine reputation for himself at Derby County, hitting 17 goals in all competitions. He’ll be a key player for Frank Lampard in the upcoming Play-Off Final, as a result.

While Wilson is a talent, there doesn’t seem to be an opportunity for him to make the Anfield grade.

Mo Salah is practically ever-present in his position, with Xherdan Shaqiri a different option from the right flank.

To compete with Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, you have to be outrageously good – and while Wilson has shown he can became a good Premier League player – he hasn’t displayed the potentiality to become world-class – which is what a Liverpool attacker has to be nowadays.

We’d back this deal. £25m is a good price and would be more outstanding business from Michael Edwards, Liverpool’s sporting director who got £19m for Dominic Solanke in January!

So in a kind of way, Solanke and Wilson pay for Fabinho. That’s how to run a club.
