Shock as Barca linked to the last Liverpool forward you’d expect

Barcelona are considering Liverpool forward Divock Origi, according to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, translated in an article by Sport Witness.

The Belgian helped put them to the sword in the Champions League semi-final, of course, notching twice in the famous 4-0 second-leg victory at Anfield.

Origi only has one year left on his contract, but his performances towards the back end of the season have encouraged Liverpool to offer him a new deal [Independent].

We’re very happy with the 24-year-old as a backup option, such is his ability to score important goals and his decent work-rate – so unless Barca want to offer a large sum – we’d prefer to keep him.

After all, we’re already losing Daniel Sturridge, so despite the fact Rhian Brewster is expected to break through in 2019/20, we need the numbers.

Obviously if Barca offer a huge sum, business can be done – but Origi seems to us like the kind of player who’s very handy to have.
