Reds superstar wants to finish career at Anfield

Is there a better left-back on planet earth right now than Andy Robertson?

Not this season – and we can say that with confidence.

Jordi Alba is his only real competition since Marcelo’s demise – and the Spaniard got seriously outshone in a head-to-head between the two in the Champions League semi-final.

Now, the Scot has given an interview in which he’s claimed he wants to finish his career with Liverpool.

“For me, at the level I’m playing at, I would love to finish my career at Liverpool if you gave me that option,” he told the Daily Mail, relayed by the Scotsman.

“I’d bite your hand off for that. But I know how hard it is to play at the elite level for a long period of time.

“I hope I can do that, but Celtic isn’t exactly a big drop.

“They play in the Champions League and Europa League and win trophies.

“Never say never. I’d love to pull on the jersey because it is my boyhood club and I still support them.

“But the way my career has gone, if you were to offer me staying at Liverpool for the rest of my career I’d take it.”

Robbo will start the Champions League Final on Saturday v Spurs at left-back, where he’s barely put a foot wrong all campaign.

His defending is top-drawer, but going forward, he’s jaw-dropping.

The 25-year-old assisted 11 goals in the Premier League, thanks to his incredibly dangerous left-footed deliveries from near the flank.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold on the other side, Liverpool have two playmakers on the wings who are also meant to be defenders!

It’s made us an outstanding creative force, especially as the front-three are more than capable of making things out of nothing as well.

Let’s just hope one of them can get another customary assist in Madrid.
