18-goal Wilson thanks Derby for loan spell while his future remains in doubt

With the bitterness of play-off final defeat now somewhat dissolving, Harry Wilson has now taken to Twitter to publicly thank Derby County for his impressive loan spell in the East Midlands.

The Reds loanee scored a total of 18 goals for the Rams, but was unable to net against Aston Villa at the weekend as Frank Lampard’s side missed out on Premier League promotion.

The 22-year-old’s future is now up in the air.

With a reputation for the spectacular and a fine free-kick in his locker, Jürgen Klopp could try to keep him around Anfield for the coming season.

The question is: after shining as a go-to man of sorts, is he still ready to fight for his place at the club?

With Premier League clubs, Wolves, Crystal Palace, Newcastle, and Brighton all interested in the Welshman – together with clubs in Germany and Spain – the Reds could cash in on the young winger.

With a sizeable sum of £25 million being floated around, were Wilson to elect to leave Liverpool we would at least receive a more than adequate fee for a player who has barely kicked a ball for us.
