Mourinho names LFC’s best player & says teams ‘arrive like Titans’

Jose Mourinho seems far more relaxed when he’s out of a job…

In fact, he provides actual opinions and doesn’t seem completely set upon telling everybody how brilliant he is and how bad both his rivals and his players are!

The Portuguese has taken time to speak about the upcoming Champions League Final between Liverpool and Spurs – discussing both sides in very complimentary terms.

Mourinho has named Virgil van Dijk and Christian Eriksen as the difference makers – while suggesting both teams will be approaching Madrid with a winner’s mentality after what happened in our respective semi-finals.

“If I had to choose one, fundamentally in this last phase of growth, it would be Van Dijk (for Liverpool). For Tottenham, because they made the final without Harry Kane, I would say Eriksen,” he told  Eleven Sports, cited in M.E.N.

“I always say that the team that had something extraordinary on their way to the final is the team that is a little further ahead.

“The curious thing about this final is that the two arrive in an absolutely incredible way. They arrive there almost like titans, completely convinced that they are going to destroy their rival, it has everything to be a final with two teams completely convinced that ‘the trophy is mine’.”

Van Dijk has been our Player of the Season, which is saying something considering both our wingers, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, are on 26 goals so far!

We really hope one of them, if not both, add to their tallies tomorrow night – with van Dijk keeping the likes of Kane, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura quiet.

Spurs have talent all over the field, but the reality is that they’ve lost five of their past eight games in all competitions.

We’re rightly the favourites – and need to leave everything on the field at the Wanda.
