Liverpool starting XI vs. Spurs: Firmino returns for Champions League final, Milner benched

Posted by

Jurgen Klopp has opted to start Bobby Firmino in the Champions League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian is preferred over Divock Origi, who had been playing well in previous games, but Bobby is back in after a spell on the sidelines through an injury.

Alisson starts between the sticks and Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson make up the defensive setup.

In midfield is the trio of Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Gini Wijnlaldum, with the skipper playing in his preferred box-to-box role.

James Milner is dropped to the bench following Gini’s heroics against Barcelona at Anfield in the semi-final second leg.

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will play alongside Bobby as they make up the front three.

These Reds could write their name in the club’s folklore with a win against Spurs to deliver the Anfield faithful number six.
