Last night will live long in the memory of every Liverpool fan around the world, and it was an emotional affair.
I was in Ava’s Bar on Renshaw Street in Liverpool when Divock Origi netted the second goal in the Madrid final.
There was a man, of about 45, who was in tears as the end of the game approached. I gave him a hug and we sang Queen’s “We Are the Champions” at the top of our lungs a few minutes later
Following the final whistle in Madrid, skipper Jordan Henderson found his dad in the crowd and they shared an emotional embrace.
It’s been a crazy train for the skipper – even some of our own fans have criticised him for not being good enough. Where are these people now?
