Mourinho makes Liverpool Champions League prediction for next season

Jose Mourinho reckons Liverpool could make it three Champions League Finals in a row next season, after Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Spurs in Madrid on Saturday evening.

Goals from Mo Salah and Divock Origi secured the victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s team, who in truth, never really turned up.

Mourinho thinks Liverpool are in such a good place right now that we could play in Istanbul this time next year – while suggesting his former side Chelsea will find it hard due to their transfer ban.

“It is difficult for Chelsea because they don’t have the possibility to be in the transfer market,” Mourinho told beIN Sports .

“Why can’t Liverpool do three finals in a row? Why Liverpool, with this good team, with this good spirit, with this good empathy. The club, the manager, the players, the fans. Why not a third?”

A seventh would be nice, but for now, we just want to bask in the glory of the sixth!

We have a whole summer to enjoy what just happened – of course – before competing on all four fronts next term.

The transfer market will now be focussed upon for a few months, with Liverpool looking to strengthen in a few positions so we can compete with Manchester City domestically.

A left-back and a versatile forward will be prioritised – and the potential targets are surely quite exciting.

After all, who wouldn’t want to join the champions of Europe?
