“No question about it”: Reds man gives definitive update on his future at the club

Adam Lallana says he will definitely still be at the club at the start of next season, despite various reports linking him with a move away.

His former club Southampton had been linked with a £13 million swoop, but Lallana says he has the full backing of Jurgen Klopp and the management team, and will not be going anywhere.

The midfielder has a huge amount of quality and can be a big asset for the Reds, but only if he gets onto the pitch. Too often over the last couple of seasons, he’s been injured and unable to contribute.

When he is on the pitch, he has a lot to offer, while off it, Lallana is a well-respected member of the dressing room and a key component of the squad in terms of leadership.

Given that Lallana is staying, a reported move for James Maddison seems unlikely to materialise and it could have a knock-on effect for the rest of the transfer window.

Recruiting another creative midfielder now appears to be less of a priority, with more of a wide player the most likely addition.
