Key Liverpool summer signing is switching to iconic shirt number

Alisson is giving up his no.13 and will take Loris Karius’s previously incumbent no.1 for the 2019/20 season.

This is according to the official website – which has released the news as part of the club’s new kit launch.

The goalkeeper strip for next season is a beautiful black with gold trim and our Brazilian is going to look sensational in it!

And awarding him the no.1 is obviously a no-brainer. Alisson won Man of the Match in our recent Champions League Final victory over Spurs, which capped off a sensational individual season in which he also won the Premier League Golden Boot.

We can see Ali keeping our net for much of the next decade. He’s 26-years-old, which in goalkeeping terms, is very young. Normally, stoppers peak in their early 30s, so we’re going to have the remarkable player keeping our net for years to come.

With Virgil van Dijk and whoever plays alongside the mesmeric Dutchman in front, as well as two of the world’s best fullbacks either side – Liverpool’s backline is as strong as it has been for a very, very long time.
