Lallana offers potentially surprising transfer update

Adam Lallana has told Liverpool supporters that he has no plans to leave the club this summer.

The Englishman has endured two years of crippling injury problems and he’s longer a part of Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice starting XI – but Lallana is keen to continue at Anfield.

“Yeah. Absolutely no question about it. I couldn’t be happier here, winning Champions Leagues,” Lallana told Sky Sports when asked if he’ll be a Red in 2019/20.

“It’s pinch yourself stuff. And more to come, a lot more to come.

“I’ve got a year left on my contract. I’ll be back, I’ll be training through the summer.

“I am as eager as ever to get fit because I know when I’m fit I’ve got a lot to give and I can get in this team.”

Lallana is still a very good player – and as a squad option – we have no problem with him continuing at Liverpool.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain fit again and Naby Keita set to take next season by storm however, Lallana’s chances of regular minutes look to slim to zero.

His complete inability to stay regularly fit has been the deciding issue in his decline, so if he is to fight with his younger team-mates for game-time – he has to stay 100% fit.

This is a big ask, but a full pre-season, in which he’ll likely be quite involved, will help.

We wish him plenty of luck, but wouldn’t be surprised if he exited the club in the summer of 2020 on the expiration of his current contract.
