Liverpool full back close to making La Liga move; Arsenal ruled out

Liverpool’s departing full back Alberto Moreno is reportedly close to making a switch to an unnamed La Liga club.

All that’s known about the club at the minute is that it’ll be competing in the Champions League next season, according to Turkish Football, so that’s one of Barcelona, Atletico, Real Madrid or Valencia.

Barcelona have previously been linked with a move for Alby, and it’d suit them to add a Champions League winner to their squad, but I’d put money on Atleti being his next club.

The Turkish Football report cites that this news came after sources close to Fenerbahce denounced the possibility of the Spaniard joining them.

According to the Mirror, Moreno was being seriously considered by Arsenal manager Unai Emery as a replacement for Nacho Monreal.

The full back will be leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the month as the Reds did not offer the 25-year-old a contract extension.

Moreno signed for the Anfield club five years ago and has registered his fourth cap for the national team since making the move. He’s stepped out in the Liverpool kit 141 times during his time on Merseyside – a number which seems like it should be smaller.
