Leeds’ loan offer for Ryan Kent rejected; Liverpool demand £12m

Liverpool starlet Ryan Kent enjoyed a fruitful season on loan at Rangers last season under the guidance of Steven Gerrard.

The 22-year-old has turned a lot of heads since lighting up the Scottish Premiership, but the Reds have rejected an approach from Leeds United for the forward.

As per Goal, it seems Liverpool are not interested in loaning out the winger again and would instead prefer to cash in after his positive showing.

Kent was voted Scotland’s Young Player of the Year having made 43 appearances for Gerrard’s side – scoring six goals and totting up four assists.

It’s a bit unclear – the winger may yet remain at Anfield and offer some squad depth next season. The winger is said to prefer sticking around at the club or take his chances somewhere else on a permanent basis, as per the same report.

Goal also report that following the sale of Daniel James from Swansea to Manchester United for up to £18million has made them realise the worth of Kent.

James only had a year left on his contract at Swansea with 43 senior appearances to his name. Conversely, Kent’s contract runs for another three years and boasts 125 senior appearances at Coventry, Barnsley, Freiburg, Bristol City and Rangers.
