Adam Lallana has been linked with a move away from Anfield following his five Premier League starts throughout the entirety of last season.

According to Football Insider, three rival clubs are have tried to lure the former Southampton captain, but Lallana wants to fight for a place at Liverpool.

The same report also suggests that our number 20 wants to earn a contract extension which would see him stay with the Reds well into his 30s.

The exact clubs are not named in the report, but, – and this is purely speculation – you’d have to expect Leicester, Southampton and Bournemouth to be interested.

The Reds are expected to strengthen further this summer, but that hasn’t swayed Lallana.

“Yeah. Absolutely no question about it. I couldn’t be happier here, winning Champions Leagues,” Lallana told Sky Sports when asked if he’ll be a Red in 2019/20.

“It’s pinch yourself stuff. And more to come, a lot more to come. I’ve got a year left on my contract. I’ll be back, I’ll be training through the summer.

“I am as eager as ever to get fit because I know when I’m fit I’ve got a lot to give and I can get in this team.”

Now the legitimacy of the source has to come into the equation here – Football Insider have got some thing right in the past, but often suggests ‘pie in the sky’ transfers.

That being said, why would they make up a rumour about Lallana? He’s hardly the most glittering name in football these days.
