James Maddison has not ruled out a move away from Leicester City this summer – but he says that he will not be distracted from playing for England at the U21 European Championships by the speculation.
The creative midfielder has been linked with a switch to the Reds – as well as a few other teams – this transfer window, but was not giving much away when asked about his future.
Via Leicestershire Live, Maddison said: “With transfer talk, you need to take it as a compliment that people are even talking about you; it won’t distract me. You have just got to ignore that and take it all in your stride.”

A move for Maddison would have made a lot more sense if Adam Lallana was going to move on, but the 31-year-old has already confirmed that he is staying for at least another season.
Maddison created more than 100 chances in the Premier League last season – more than anyone since 2012/13 – but it makes little sense that the Reds would splash £60 million on the Leicester man when Jurgen Klopp already has lots of options in that area.
If he stays put for this season, a move could be on the cards next year when he has further established himself in the top flight.
