Ex-Reds man voted the world’s greatest sporting villain

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has topped a poll done by ESPN for the biggest ‘sporting villains’.

While he has a past that includes biting, stopping Ghana from progressing in the World Cup with a handball on the goalline and generally being a pest on the pitch for opposition defenders, Suarez won’t care what people think – in fact, he’ll love it.

He’s one of those players who you love when he’s on your side, but hate if he plays for anyone else, much like the rest of the players and sportsmen on the list.

The Reds found that during the Champions League semi-final, when he tried to get under the skin of Andy Robertson, only for the Scot to have the last laugh.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho came fourth, while Suarez beat Joey Barton to top spot. Real Madrid centre-back Sergio Ramos came seventh, behind Diego Costa in fifth. The full list is below.
