Reds ‘set to make offer’ for 23-year-old midfielder who Jurgen Klopp loves

Liverpool are set to offer €15 million for Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz, according to a Turkish journalist who covers the Super Lig club.

The Reds have been linked with a move this week, with Jurgen Klopp said to be very impressed with the tough and sturdy player, who many believe is ideal for the Premier League.

If it is true that the Reds are about to table an offer, there is likely to be competition from Arsenal, who are another team who have been linked with Tokoz.

The midfielder only signed for Besiktas a year ago, but has impressed ever since. The Reds are said to have scouted him particularly heavily over the last three months.

According to Sport Witness, the Turkish side are in financial trouble and therefore need to sell, hence the fee will not be too inflated. Given the valuations of some of the other potential Reds targets this transfer window, Tokoz could prove to be a bargain buy.

Claims like this do come out of Turkey quite often and are not always true – but there might be something in this one. Time will tell whether he is to become the first signing of the summer.
