Future for Liverpool midfielder made clear – report

Marko Grujic has spent the best part of two years out on loan at Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin and Cardiff City, but his future may still yet be at Anfield.

The Liverpool Echo report that Jurgen Klopp still holds a high opinion of the dynamic midfielder, and believes he has the potential to be a regular at Liverpool.

The German boss is said to not even be considering selling the Serbian after impressing in the manager’s home land’s top flight, according to the same report.

Grujic would fetch a fee of around £20million, but the Reds would struggle to get a player of his ability for a similar figure – it’s entirely possible that our number 16 will be fobbed about on loans until we decided what we want to do with him.

There are currently no deals in place, but, as per the Echo report, Liverpool are expected to arrange another deal which would see Grujic spend next season elsewhere. As it stands, the midfielder is set to report for duty at Melwood for pre-season next month.

The Serbian could be an auxiliary backup for Klopp’s midfield this season, but it remains to be seen if he’d be happy with such a squad role.
