Reds secure transfer of prodigal midfielder; deal goes through July 9

Liverpool have officially signed teenage prospect Connor Bradley to the club’s Academy books.

The Northern Irish youngster’s scholarship will begin on July 9, his 16th birthday, and will run for two years – at which point he’ll have hoped to have earned a professional deal.

Bradley is coming from Dungannon United Youth setup in his homeland, but he’s spent plenty of time on trial at Liverpool already – and according to the Mirror – has impressed our coaches and his soon to be U18 team-mates a lot.

The talented footballer will hope to get a regular spot in Barry Lewtas’ U18 side, which just won the FA Youth Cup, and then kick on from there.

In 2018/19, Jurgen Klopp gave a first-team debut to Ki-Jana Hoever, a Dutch defender with mind-boggling potential – so if you’re good enough – opportunities will be presented.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is of course the best example of this. The Scouser progressed through our Academy sides and now, aged 20, has already won the Champions League, has been named in the Premier League Team of the Year and starts for England.
