How world-beating Alisson can clinch unprecedented achievement

Alisson Becker’s debut season for the Reds has been incredible as he broke records and fixed our issues between the sticks. Now, as things stand, he could achieve what no one else has done before.

The Reds goalkeeper could be the first-ever goalkeeper to simultaneously hold the Golden Glove award in each of three major competitions he has participated in: the Premier League, the Champions League, and the Copa América.

A 97-point finish in the Premier League saw the Brazilian awarded with the Golden Glove award after keeping a remarkable 21 clean sheets.

In the Champions League, the 26-year-old kept six clean sheets in our 13 European outings – a statistic he ironically shares with Barcelona ‘keeper Marc-André ter Stegen.

While in the Copa América, the Brazil international has kept four consecutive clean sheets so far for A Seleção (including a further two in their international friendly warm-ups against Qatar and Honduras).

This potential Golden Glove achievement is an absolutely unreal stat and showcases just why Jürgen Klopp parted with £65 million to being him to Anfield.

Brazil meet Argentina in the semi-finals of the Copa América and the Reds’ stopper will have to be at his world-beating best to keep out the likes of Lionel Messi, but we all know he’s done it once before!
