(Video) – MOTM Mané scores twice in action-packed Senegal win

Sadio Mané had an eventful evening for Senegal, scoring a brace and missing a penalty, as they cruised into the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations by beating Kenya.

After Ismaïla Sarr finally opened the scoring in the 63rd minute, Mané atoned for a tame, first-half penalty effort with a well-taken, one-on-one finish after an incredible counter attack.

It had shades of the Reds’ attacking work in it, as a Kenyan corner was cleared, lapped up by an expectant Mané and despatched with aplomb.

Then, less than ten minutes later, our Senegalese star rounded off the win by showing his character and taking the second penalty of the night, but this time converted it with both power and precision.

For his threat, menace, and goals, the Reds’ No. 10 was awarded the AFCON MOTM award, despite some calling for Kenya’s ‘keeper, Patrick Matasi, to be handed the honour for a fine display in trying to keep Mané and his teammates out.

Aliou Cissé’s side have eased into a last 16 meeting with Uganda as Senegal hope to go all the way in the competition.
