Serie A side reportedly confirm Bosman signing of young Reds’ winger

Although they are yet to annouce it through club channels, it has been claimed Serie A side S.S. Lazio have officially completed the free signing of young Reds winger Bobby Adekanye.

According to Football Italia, Adekanye’s four-year contract has been deposited with Lega Serie A.

Born in Nigeria, but a Dutch youth international, Adekanye arrived at the Reds from Barcelona’s La Masia back in 2015.

The 20-year-old netted three times and registered two assists for the Reds in his 13 appearances for the youth set-up this season, but has never made a senior bow for Jürgen Klopp.

As early as March, the Reds seemed resigned to losing the promising winger on a Bosman and now it appears the reluctant relinquishing of Adekanye has been finalised.

A desire to secure regular minutes of first-team football seems to have been the driving force behind the 20-year-old’s decision to leave Liverpool for pastures new.

Mainly playing as right-winger, Adekanye will join fellow former Reds Lucas Leiva and Luis Alberto in Rome after Lazio finished 8th in Serie A in the 2018/19 season.
