Marca report Klopp wants exciting Real Madrid & Spain U21-winning midfielder

Fresh from winning the European U21 Championship, Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has been linked with the Reds by Marca, together with fellow Premier League side Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spanish outlet suggest Jürgen Klopp “can add the dynamism that he was looking for in Naby Keita, something he has not yet found.” Additionally, they claim the Reds “may be the most intriguing proposition, though at a club level it is more difficult.”

It seems Zinedine Zidane does not see a future for the 22-year-old midfielder at the Santiago Bernabéu, despite acknowleging his quality in the middle of the park.

Although the report claims clubs in Italy and Germany have asked about him, Marca suggest England is a more likely destination for the Andalucían prospect.

Accordingly, Spurs and Madrid are suggested to have a good working relationship after multiple transfer business between the two clubs – together with reports of Christian Eriksen potentially heading to Real.

However, Los Blancos still seem somewhat reluctant to let Ceballos depart the Spanish capital, despite him not featuring in Zidane’s plans, and Marca suggest a buy-back clause could be included in any transfer for the player.

While Arsenal remain interested too, the Reds have apparently “moved discreetly, but their interest has grown in recent weeks.”

Opposed to a loan deal for Ceballos, Liverpool would rather buy him outright and could reject any attempts from Real to add the option of being able to bring him back to Madrid should he suceed at Anfield.

The question is, however, do the Reds really need further reinforcement in their engine room?
