After further aggravating his adductor injury while playing for Guinea in the Africa Cup of Nations, there were fears Naby Keïta could miss the start of the Reds’ 2019/20 season, but that seems to have changed.
Now, as The Guardian report, following the Reds’ medical staff assessment at Melwood the prognosis looks positive and Keïta should be ready to report for pre-season duty as the Reds jet off to the United States.
He will, however, be a notable absentee as Guinea face off against Algeria in their last-16 meeting at AFCON and has been withdrawn from the competition.
The Reds warned Guinea that Keïta should be treated with the utmost care, cautioning them against taking the midfielder out to Egypt for the tournament: advice that was unfortunately not followed.

The £52.75 million midfielder has been told to take a holiday before joining up with Jürgen Klopp and his fellow Reds, which will hopefully put an end to the injury saga that has been plaguing the 24-year-old for the last couple of months.
Hopefully some rest and relaxation will allow Keïta ahead of the upcoming season will allow him to find his feet once again after a somewhat stuttering start to his Liverpool career.
The club have shown great faith in their No. 8 and will be hoping to see more of his successful form in April when he scored three times: his debut goal against Southampton, doubling up against Porto and adding a third against Huddersfield.
