Liverpool outcast plans to impress Klopp in pre-season

Harry Wilson is back at Liverpool, and he wants a fair crack at getting into the first team, but he’ll have to convince Jurgen Klopp.

Many of the senior players are still not yet back from their summer breaks so the winger is likely to get the nod against Tranmere Rovers.

The Welsh international has a plan. “[The plan is to] work hard,he told the club’s official website. “Now I am back here, it is up to me to try and impress the manager and get into the team.

I was excited to get back and see the lads again. It was good to see the manager and the lads I haven’t been around for a while, to have a chat with them and see what they’ve been up to over the summer.

Then getting back to work with them and putting each other through our paces, it’s been a productive couple of days.

Wilson spent the entirety of last season on loan at Derby County who came agonisingly close to clinching promotion, but it wasn’t meant to be.

When the season wound up, the winger took himself straight to Madrid to watch Liverpool lift their sixth Champions League title.

I went out to the Champions League final with a couple of the lads I played with in the youth teams,” he said. “I was desperate to get out there.

My season had finished a couple of days before the final so I was able to get tickets, book flights and go out there. It was fantastic to see the club win a sixth European Cup.
