As you’ll know by now, Liverpool are on the verge of announcing a deal for the youngest player to ever grace the Premier League, Harvey Elliott.

BBC Sport confirmed last night that the deal is all but done, with the 16-year-old signing terms after rejecting a scholarship from boyhood club Fulham.

Elliott isn’t allowed to pen a pro-contract until he turns 17 next April, but according to the Echo, he’s not going to head to the Academy in Kirby and get himself accustomed to the club…

In fact, he’s not even going to be with Neil Critchley’s U23s, but will immediately train with Jurgen Klopp’s first-team alongside our other prodigal summer signing, Sepp van den Berg.

For a player who only recently turned 16 to be thrown into the mix alongside Ballon d’Or favourite Virgil van Dijk, record-breaking goalscorer Mo Salah and the rest of Liverpool’s superstars, is an incredible testament to his potential.

Perhaps we’ll get to see him have a runout in one of our pre-season friendlies, which would be exciting for both the player and the fans.

Elliott is a Liverpool fan, which probably helped us secure the transfer over the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG.
