Curtis Jones says Liverpool’s current group of players have a ‘special bond’ which makes it easy for young players like himself to move up from the Academy.

The 18-year-old, who made his senior debut against Wolves in the FA Cup in January, says the squad harmony is virtually perfect, and the lads are all working together to achieve the club’s aims.

Speaking to LiverpoolFC.com, he explained: “I think the bond between this group is special. I don’t think a lot of teams have got a bond like this – I’ve seen that myself.

“Being a young lad coming in and feeling comfortable, feeling at home and knowing that I can speak to anyone that I want. If I’ve got a bit of a problem or if I’m doing well they will tell me.

“It’s the same for all the players, the bond is great, the banter is top and the manager and the staff are involved in that as well, so it’s like everybody is a family and we just want the best for each other.”

It’s great to hear such positivity and confidence from someone who is relatively new to the camp – he’s obviously been made to feel welcome.

The togetherness of the players is so important, and it probably is the reason that big changes in playing staff are not going to be forthcoming this summer.

There won’t be many signings brought in, because the squad is balanced and harmonious as it is – with no need to risk losing that.
