Klopp set to renew faith in youth for Bradford friendly as starlet suffers injury

Jurgen Klopp is set to turn to his younger squad members again as Liverpool travel to the midlands to face off against Bradford City.

Off the back of a 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere Rovers, the youngsters should be in good spirits. Unfortunately, Paul Glatzel will not be joining the party.

The German starlet sustained an injury in the second half at Prenton Park and was withdrawn before the final whistle – only to be replaced by a goalkeeper.

Glatzel is bound to be frustrated, but it’s hopefully not the end of his pre-season for the Reds, as suggested by Klopp when he spoke to the club’s official site, as Liverpool await results to determine the extent of his injury.

Klopp will be happy with what he saw on Thursday night as youngsters Rhian Brewster, Bobby Duncan and Curtis Jones found themselves among the goals.

That trio are very likely to feature heavily throughout the summer. Yasser Larouci and Adam Lewis are expected to feature again with the Reds keen on identifying depth in the left-back position.

New signing Sepp van den Berg will have to wait to pull on a Liverpool shirt for the first time as he’s still yet to receive international clearance to play for the Reds.

Dejan Lovren is also expected to return to the fold and, like Joel Matip, offer some experience to the youthful lineup we saw at Tranmere.
