Daniel Sturridge set to receive offer from Serie A club after LFC exit – report

Former Liverpool man Daniel Sturridge has been offered the chance to bounce back as Serie A side Bologna are reportedly looking to bring in the forward.

The former England international was released by the Reds as his contract ran out at the end of June, and Liverpool chose not to renew it.

According to the Express, the Rossoblu have asked Sturridge’s camp if the striker would consider a move to Italy.

He could get his career back on track in Serie A, especially at a club like Bologna, but it remains to be seen if the Italians would be willing to go anywhere near his expected wages – he was on £120,000 per week at Anfield.

Sturridge struggled with injuries throughout his Liverpool career, and Jurgen Klopp opted to let the forward go at the end of his contract.

He did manage to score 67 times in 160 appearances for the club, but when you consider that it took him six seasons to make that many appearances, you can see where his strengths and weaknesses are.

Liverpool did chose to offer Belgian forward Divock Origi a new contract with the club, and the Champions League hero has since signed on the dotted line of a new long-term deal.
