Liverpool legend excited by young Reds full-back, and it’s not Larouci

Legendary Liverpool forward John Aldridge has spoken out about one of the young lads on tour that he’s most excited about – and it’s not Yasser Larouci or Rhian Brewster.

Aldo is buzzing with fellow Scouser Adam Lewis, the left back who has come on for Larouci in our past two pre-season fixtures.

The former Red thinks the Liverpool U18s captain has the makings of a star after making it out of the Liverpool Academy and into Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

Young Adam Lewis could be a contender to step into the team at left back,Aldo told the Irish Independent. “I would never want to put too much pressure on kids at a formative stage of their career.

Something would have to go very badly wrong for Lewis not to hit the big-time because he has all the raw materials to become a star.

The left back impressed for the Reds at an U23s level before making the jump to the first team for the pre-season tour.

The Scouser has been with the club since he was six-years-old, and is on the brink of breaking into the senior team after impressing.

Lewis found the back of the net once last season for the Liverpool U23s squad, and totted up a more impressive four assists.

When used as a left-back and on the left side of midfield, Lewis has picked up a staggering 20 assists across 67 games.
