Which summer friendlies Salah, Firmino & Alisson will play

Jurgen Klopp has explained that Mo Salah and our Copa America winners Roberto Firmino and Alisson will miss the US Tour, with our first match set to take place this Saturday against Borussia Dortmund.

We then take on Sevilla, Sporting Lisbon and Napoli – but four of our superstars will not feature – along with Sadio Mane – who plays in the final of the AFCON this Friday.

However, as soon as we play Napoli on July 28th, we fly to Evian for a training camp, which is split up by a game against Lyon on the 31st.

Klopp has explained how Salah, Bobby and our goalkeeper will be back for this intensive training period, and will therefore be available for the start of our season.

“Mo and the Brazilians will come for Evian,” Klopp told the official website.

“It means then we have nearly a week until City [in the Community Shield], a strong 12 days until Norwich and then 15 or 16 days until Chelsea [in the Super Cup].

“We have to see. The good thing is, when you have a short break you don’t lose a lot.

“They needed three weeks and so we told them [to take it], but they train now again already.

“I would have preferred it if they had come back after a week, but that would make absolutely no sense! So, [they have] these three weeks and then we will have them here for pre-season.”

They may not be fully fit for the Community Shield on August 4, but at least they should be back up and running when it matters, against Norwich on August 9.

Without Mane though, there’s a spot up for grabs in the front-three – and right now we think it’s a straight shootout between Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster for who’ll play.

In our opinion, whoever shines most brightly stateside will be the favourite.
