Klopp’s comments on signings show club are still open to buying this summer – but only on the right terms

Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards – as well as club owners FSG – have always maintained that there is money to be spent this transfer window if the right player becomes available, and the German’s latest comments back that up.

Klopp has an exceptional record so far in the transfer market with the Reds so he deserves to be completely trusted. Only Loris Karius could be deemed unsuccessful and he cost less than £5 million.

The Reds have already added Sepp van den Berg and Harvey Elliott. Looking ahead to the rest of this summer’s window, Klopp has reiterated that he is prepared to spend it the right player comes available.

Via the Daily Mirror, he explained: “I’m happy with the team, we are really happy. Do we have exactly the solution that everybody from outside would be 100 per cent happy?

“I don’t think so because people want to have world-class here, world-class here and the guy on the bench has to be world-class as well. That’s not so easy. But we are of course working on it.”

Reds fans will love the message that Klopp sent his players during the summer break

Regardless of what happens in terms of transfers this summer, the Reds can be confident of heading into the new season in excellent shape.

Clearly, a team which accumulated 97 league points last season only needs fine-tuning. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Rhian Brewster have been added to the mix, as well as a couple of other young players, so the team is already freshened up.

We’d love a signing to come in still – but there should be no meltdown if they don’t.
