Reds prepared to ‘blow club out of the water’ to sign 18-year-old starlet

Liverpool are said to be ready to ‘blow Leeds United out of the water’ in order to sign French starlet Enzo Valentim this summer.

Football Insider claim that the Reims II right-back is of serious interest to the Reds and the Yorkshire side, as well as Stoke City, who are also keeping tabs on him.

Valentim currently plays in the fourth tier of French football, so he’d be making a big step up wherever he goes. He does, however, have pedigree given that he has 36 senior appearances to his name, and he’s been capped by France U19s.

Having already signed both 16-year-old Harvey Elliott and 17-year-old Sepp van den Berg, the Reds’ focus this summer is on youth talents primarily, but time will tell as to whether Valentim is also on Michael Edwards’ radar.

If he is, he’d be another one for the future rather than someone to immediately slot into the first team setup.
