Dortmund star Sancho has lofty expectations of Liverpool youngster

Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has spoken out on his admiration of Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster who has been on fire this pre-season.

The young England international has bagged four goals in the three games he’s featured in throughout the early stages of the Reds’ warm up fixtures against Tranmere Rovers, Bradford City and Borussia Dortmund.

Brewster only played 90 minutes across the first two games, which ended in victory for Liverpool, and managed to find the back of the net in his half an hour cameo against Dortmund.

The youngster stepped on the field in place of a knackered Divock Origi, claimed the penalty kick as his own, and made no mistake from the spot to get his name on the score sheet.

Fellow Englishman Sancho has liked what he’s seen of the Liverpool man. “He is a great player. I played with him a lot for England and he scored a lot of goals for us and I have assisted him.

It’s a good thing for us to have someone like him,” the former Manchester City starlet told ESPN. “I feel like he is at the right club, he is developing and he is still so young.

Just give him the time and patience and you will see. I know how good he is. He causes defenders nightmares.

It’s so nice to hear team-mates at an international level being able to talk about each-other in such a way. I’ve a feeling that wouldn’t be the case if he were still at City.

It’s a shame that rivalries in the English leagues can often stand in the way of building up others – great to see Sancho buck the trend here.
