Ex-Reds goalkeeper Kirkland checks into rehabilitation centre

Chris Kirkland, the former Liverpool goalkeeper, has checked into a rehabilitation centre in North Wales, he has revealed today.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, Kirkland first revealed his problems with depression back in October 2017 and has since launched an app – called YAPA, which stands for ‘You Are Perfect Always’ – to help people with mental health problems.

He also appeared on an LFCTV documentary with Jason McAteer called ‘Through The Storm’ which first aired in October last year. That programme is well worth watching for anyone who has access to it.

By tweeting about the issue, as well as having launched the app, hopefully Kirkland can help others feel comfortable enough to get help for themselves as well.

Plenty of Reds fans replied to Kirkland’s tweet to wish him the best of luck – and we’d like to echo those sentiments.
