Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock believes midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could save Jurgen Klopp from spending up to £50million this summer.
Warnock, who was speaking to BBC 5 Live Sport, said that the former Arsenal man could be like a new signing for the Reds after sitting out 90% of last season.
He also thinks highly of Adam Lallana. “Lallana and Oxlade-Chamberlain can both play [further up the pitch]. So they can both play in that front three positions. So it gives Klopp two more options without buying players for £40-50million,” he said.
Liverpool were short in goals from midfield last season, and Ox is certainly the type of player who can help with that as his explosive playing style is bound to result in more goals like what we saw against Manchester City in the Champions League the season before last.
