‘Perfect for Trent’: Reds fans all want one signing after injury setback is announced

Nathaniel Clyne is set for an extended period on the sidelines with a serious injury, leaving the Reds short of defensive cover unless someone else comes in during the transfer window.

All the signs are that another signing won’t be made – but Reds fans think they know who would make the perfect addition.

Former PSG and Barcelona man Dani Alves, who was named the best player at the Copa America this summer, is available on a free transfer.

It wouldn’t be a typical Reds signing given he’s well into his 30s, but we can certainly see the potential benefits of it. He’d add experience, more winning mentality and already knows the likes of Roberto Firmino and Fabinho.

It probably won’t happen, in truth, but that’s not to say that Reds fans don’t want it to. We wouldn’t be against it ourselves as long as the wages were right.
