Another ‘angry’ Spurs man has made a big claim about the Champions League final

Tottenham are still going on about how much they deserved to win the Champions League final in Madrid.

You would think that having been defeated without troubling Alisson too much, Spurs would want to completely forget about the match and move on, but instead their players are talking about it at every opportunity.

Harry Kane and Harry Winks have both spoken about the game before – with the latter particularly vocal about thinking his side should have won the game – but now Moussa Sissoko, who gave away the penalty early on in the game that Mo Salah converted, has added to his teammate’s comments.

He said to the South China Morning Post: “Angry, I was very angry. You are in the final to win, not to play. Even if it wasn’t a great game from both teams. I think we deserved more than Liverpool to win this final, but unluckily for us, we didn’t win.

“None of us were happy, but that’s football and we have to learn from it. I’m sure everyone was still thinking about this final for a few weeks, but we have to move on.”

The only thing that matters is that the Reds are European champions and won the match. It wasn’t a great spectacle from either side so we’re not sure how Spurs can be so certain they should have taken the victory.

Next year’s league games – scheduled for the end of October and the middle of January – should be tasty affairs.
