As he launched the new game, FIFA 20, which comes out in September, Van Dijk spoke of his pride at being selected – but also about what rating he believes is a fair representation of himself.

The favourite for the Ballon d’Or was not holding back either, as he outlined that he wants to be rated at 88, making him the best-rated defender in the game.

He said to Sport Bible: “I think I should get 88 at least. 88 should be a fair rating but I have no control over it.

“I think they have should have my pace a little bit up, I’m not sure what it this year but it’s difficult having defender with higher pace because it makes it easier to defend the strikers.”

Players of the game will be looking forward to seeing what all the ratings are for the Reds stars. After last season, they should certainly have gone up, with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane also set to be among the best-rated players in the game.

Lots of Premier League stars play the game regularly and it seems Van Dijk is no different. It must be weird to be able to play as a virtual version of yourself!
