Two Premier League clubs lead chase for Reds man who wants regular first team action

Newcastle United and Aston Villa are leading the chase for Reds winger Harry Wilson, according to Football Insider.

The Welsh winger, who scored 18 times for Derby County last season while on loan in the Championship, could still stay at Anfield and fight for his place, but he is also understood to be keen on getting regular football.

Newcastle and Aston Villa are said to be open to signing him either on loan or on a permanent deal, with the Reds expected to be asking for at least £20 million.

Nicolas Pepe has not moved clubs yet for one simple reason

Having done quite well in pre-season, showing he is more than capable of staying and being a squad player, we think the Reds should hold onto him for a season and give him a chance.

Given that Jurgen Klopp has not signed anyone in forward areas – and doesn’t look like he will in the remaining weeks of the transfer window – it would make sense for Wilson to stay.

With Sadio Mane set to miss the start of the season having returned late for pre-season after international duty, there is a slot in the team available for the taking which Wilson could grasp.

If he were to move on now without trying to cement himself at Liverpool, having been at the Academy for more than a decade, Wilson might regret it further down the line, especially given Klopp isn’t actively trying to sell him.
