Man City’s Kevin de Bruyne makes very surprising Premier League title prediction

Kevin de Bruyne, the Belgium and Manchester City midfielder, says that the winner of the Premier League next season might only need to acquire 85 points, according to Sky Sports.

Over the last two years, City have accumulated 198 Premier League points, beating the Reds by one last year and hitting a century the year before that. Next year, though, De Bruyne says City – or anyone else – might not need to get anywhere near that.

It seems a strange thing to say at this stage of the season – and he didn’t expand on why that might be. We certainly can’t see a drop-off of that much from either team.

As far as the Reds are concerned, Jurgen Klopp and his players must aim to get as close to 100 points as possible once again. It might not ultimately take that many, but we can’t see either of the top two sides in the country suddenly losing out on 13 or 14 points that they won last season.

Spurs might be able to get a bit closer, but the Reds and City look set to dominate once again.
